Meet Colli Chan
Colli Chan is a London-based violinist whose work spans orchestral, chamber, and collaborative performance. Originally from Canada, she began studying violin and piano at the age of three and quickly developed a passion for ensemble music.
Her orchestral journey began at age eight when she joined her first youth orchestra, leading to numerous international tours throughout her formative years. As a member of leading Canadian youth ensembles, she performed across Europe and Asia, including appearances in China, Italy, and Austria. In recognition of her musical achievements, she was selected to perform with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada for its landmark 150th Anniversary Tour in 2017 and European Tour in 2018.
Colli earned her Bachelor of Music in Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. During her studies, she performed at Buckingham Palace with the conservatoire orchestra for the The King's Foundation, where she had the privilege of performing before King Charles III.
She later completed a Master of Music Performance at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, studying with internationally acclaimed violist Rivka Golani. While at Trinity Laban, she was awarded the Ivor Simmonds Scholarship, the Bibby Award, and the Trinity College London Scholarship.
An accomplished international performer, Colli has appeared in renowned venues including the Glenn Gould Studio, Konzerthaus Berlin, and Lincoln Center. In London, she has performed at leading concert halls such as Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre, and Smith Square Hall.
Colli is also a founding member of the Swan Ensemble, an innovative chamber group built around a core string quartet that collaborates with artists across a diverse range of musical genres. The ensemble has toured extensively throughout England, Spain, and Canada, and is committed to championing contemporary music through partnerships with living composers. In 2025, Swan Ensemble presented world premieres of new works by David Jaeger and Quim Miracle, furthering its mission to expand and enrich the chamber music repertoire.
With a performance career rooted in artistic versatility, international collaboration, and a dedication to both classical and contemporary music, Colli continues to establish herself as a dynamic presence on the international stage.
